Oslo Håndverksdestilleri Akevitt

Oslo Håndverksdestilleri (OHD) started life in 2015 and was created with one goal in mind; to create exceptional quality artisanal spirits. The products they produce resonate with distilling traditions dating back to pre-1927 and encompass rich Norwegian botanicals from the surrounding area, namely the river Alna, situated near Norway’s capital city.

OHD’s Akevitt has been lovingly matured for 12 months in American oak casks. All botanicals are sourced from Norway and as close to their distillery as possible. This traditional Norwegian spirit includes angelica root, caraway, chamomile, calamus root, dandelion, meadowsweet, hyssop, heather, sorrel, St. John's wort, wormwood, horehound and yarrow.

On the nose expect honeyed heather and fragrant parsley. The taste is oily with hints of vanilla and the finish sweet honey and cut grass.

Serving suggestion: either neat on the rocks or with premium cola and a fresh slice of orange

Akevitt is traditionally distilled from neutral grain or potato spirit and flavoured with botanicals.
