Greensand Ridge PX Cask Gin

Greensand Ridge is an award-winning, carbon neutral distillery located in a beautifully converted Victorian coach house in the heart of Kent. Will, owner and distiller, specialises in Gins, Rums and Fruit Brandies, making spirits with provenance, using sustainable practices and turning surplus produce from local growers into fine spirits.

The Pedro Ximénez Cask Gin has the heart of their award-winning London Dry Gin. Once distilled it rests in European oak casks, previously used to age Pedro Ximénez sweet sherry. The rich sweet and spicy character of the PX cask is layered on top of the already complex and aromatic gin to present a fully flavoured spirit, capable of everything from a sipping serve to a big spiced punch.

On the nose you’re immediately met with the warm spice of the PX and an abundance of sweet honey. There’s a touch of citrus too which lifts the nose quite pleasantly. The palate is very smooth and you could easily drink this straight up over ice. The finish is long as you’re left with the flavours of Christmas pudding lingering.
Serving Suggestion:
If you fancy something straight up, add ice with a good slice of fresh orange. To add length to the drink, try ginger ale and cut its teeth with some fresh lime. If you’re entertaining then the PX works exceptionally well in a Negroni. Enjoy!
