Blanton's Original

Blanton’s original is the first single barrel bourbon. Originally reserved for family and friends of Colonel Blanton, it now available to everyone which is great news! It is matured in American white oak barrels at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. An irresistible bourbon which is smooth, delicate and full of flavour. Winning a gold medal every year in the IWS Competition from 1999-2004.

On the nose, notes of citrus fruits from the rye grain are balanced out the with vanilla and butterscotch from the oak barrel. Notes of nutmeg and cinnamon come though later on. The palate is sweet, again citrus from the start, oak and vanilla to follow. The finish is long, spices of cinnamon and nutmeg fade into a sweet and creamy vanilla, butterscotch and toffee flavour.
